Maria Hill, or better known as Maria for short, is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and was a character that appeared in the movie The Avengers, and was based off of the character of the same name in the comics. She is portrayed by actress Cobie Smulders.

She made her debut in the movie The Avengers, during the initial events of the movie alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury, and Agent Phil Coulson, when they were aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D Hellicarrier solving the mystery of the Tesseract, before the Asgardian God Loki came and blew the place up.

Maria is a top agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., together with Agents Natasha Romanoff, Phil Coulson, and Clint Barton. She was shown to have excellent hand-to-hand combat and skills, as well as professional skills in carrying and using firearms.

She was positioned aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, and assisted Nick Fury in gathering and briefing the The Avengers, through the Avengers Initiative order.

Appearance

Maria has black hair and is a fairly tall caucasian American. She is slim and has only been seen wearing her SHIELD Agent uniform in The Avengers film.
