Maria Stark was the wife of Howard Stark, with whom together bore a son named Tony Stark. She died in a car crash along with Howard.

She gave birth to Arno Stark and hid him away in the Maria Stark Foundation Hospice. After that, she adopted a new baby which she and Howard Stark named Tony Stark, and treated him as their own child whom they truly loved and cared.
