Mickey Rourke, one of today's few true method actors and a graduate of New York's Actor's Studio, is this generation's classic working actor.
In 2008 Rourke burst back onto the Hollywood scene with a seminal performance as a washed-up professional wrestler in Darren Aronofsky's award-winning drama "The Wrestler." Rourke received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, and also won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award, and an Independant Spirit Award.
Rourke's career has been defined by his performances in "9 1/2 Weeks," "Barfly," "Angel Heart," "Year of the Dragon," "The Pope of Greenwich Village," "Diner," and Francis Ford Coppola's cult classic "Rumble Fish." More recently, Rourke received acclaim for his roles in Robert Rodriguez's "Once Upon a Time in Mexico," and "Sin City."
Rourke's recent releases include "Killshot," written by Elmore Leonard and "The Informers" directed by Gregor Jordan.
